Mandatory Fun (Album 14) Speculation :3

Post by TMBJon »

Now that we know who is being parodied, polkified, and with a couple exceptions all of the style parodies, what are your hopes for the next album?

For me, my one big regret over the choices this time was no direct parodies of rock songs. Granted, most of the popular rock songs in the last couple years have been pretty terrible, so we'll have to hope there is a rock resurgence in the next few years. If not, I think a Born To Run parody would be a great classic rock choice.

As for style parodies, I am still really hoping for a Radiohead style parody and would also like to see Pink Floyd, The Pixies, Flaming Lips, Bloodhound Gang, The Killers, Lil Wayne. Al has written some great rap parodies but I really want to see what a rap style parody would be like (sorry "Twister" apologists).

A major wish of mine would be for Al to include more accordion in the music other than the polkas. Though the Album 13 originals that we haven't heard could have accordion in them, I would still like to hear more of the squeezebox on Album 14.

As for style parodies, I second The Bloodhound Gang, and add Tom Petty, CCR, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and Everclear.

Haha And so begins another Epic Thread... stretching off into the future, its potential as immeasurable as the sands of the desert...

Hard to say... Muse?
I'd like to see some more complex and involved album pieces along the lines of Pancreas and Genius in France. I'd like Al to write an entire comic opera.. for the Broadway stage..

Most of all, I'd like popular music to stop sucking so badly so that there's something halfway decent for the man to get his teeth into.

We have 9 year olds running around on the Billboard charts. It's not too much of a reach we'll have a 3-6 year old before Donut Hangover

Yes, I know the title....Al told me in a dream...... :P

I'd like Al to do an Elton John parody some time before I die.
