I've checked to see the code you used, and it's exactly right. I don't know what's going on.
I know certain image types aren't accepted, but JPGs should work fine.

I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

I just checked your tags, and they are fine. So the problem is with where they are being hosted.
How long ago did you upload them? Is there a lag time? The other thing I can think of is that villiage photos has a bandwidth limit, and once you've reached it for the day, they don't let the pic load.
Another option is to use the photo option if you have a yahoo account. It doesn't allow for direct linking, but if you paste the URL we can go look at it. One of our members, Algonacchick, uses that all the time and it works well. Just make sure it's marked as a public album. It's free and you get 30 MB of space.

I'll assume you know how to navigate the Yahoo Photos... Just find the one you want to share, and highlight the URL in the address bar, then copy (CTRL C) and then paste it (CTRL V) in the post you want it to be seen in.

Oh, and you have to make sure the album is marked for public viewing.
