My Horrible Year-End Medleys

Back in 2001, I decided I'd take a cue from our pal Al and write a short medley of popular songs spanning that year. When I'd reached fifteen songs and realized there were so many others I'd hoped to include, I doubled the length of the project and settled on 30 songs as the standard for any medleys I created from then on. I recorded the entirety of these medleys myself, playing guitar, bass, keyboards, and creating drum samples. Some segments gank Al's polkification of popular songs, while others were attempts of mine to recreate certain musical aspects of the originals.

Since then, I've recorded a medley of popular songs each year up until 2009, when I decided to put the project on a bit of a hiatus. This has caused a fair amount of chaos amongst many of my friends, who as it turns out only hung around me to see what songs I'd try to recreate. Oh well; you can't please everyone.

But ANYWAY, since we're still waiting to hear what Al's got up his sleeve on his forthcoming album, I thought I'd help to pass the time and share a medley or two with you, the fine folks at WOWAY. Because it's the most recent one, I also decided I'd start by posting "My Horrible 2008 Medley". I should warn you: at 11 and a half minutes, this thing is LONG. But on the bright side, it's almost as amusing as your average Soulja Boy song.
