First, I'll start off by saying I don't know if this is the right forum, it's either this, or general chat. If it is indeed the wrong forum, mods, feel free to move/delete/spit on/etc.
Anyway, I am in a band. We rock. Period. But the real question here is, when I'm ordering CD's, what CD Pressing site should I use, and how big should my artwork files be?
Right now, I'm looking into discmakers.com, and whenever I try to upload a picture or photo, it tells me that the DPI rate on these pics is less then 300. Now, these are big pictures, about 1000 X 1000 etc. Does the DPI really matter, and if so, how do I get it to work.
Also, if I go ahead and use one of these photos (less than 300 DPI) will the CD's that are printed turn out crappy? Thanks!

I use DiscMakers... they're great for short run duplication.
For replication of over 500, I've heard a lot of good stuff about http://www.iloveimprint.com

DPI basically means nothing... until you're printing. 1000x1000 is clearly not enough. You need to go by dimensions (in inches/centimeters/etc) and resolution (dpi).
Get the measurements from the printer.
Yes, it will turn out pixelated and/or blurry if you use something too small.

Thanks ever so much for info! Have you ran into any trouble with the DPI problem?weirdojace @ September 15, 2009 04:04 am wrote: I use DiscMakers... they're great for short run duplication.

It was never a problem... they should give you templates to use.
