Our church has a talent show coming up, an I'm debating whether or not to sing an Al song. And then...which one. That's where you fine people might be able to help. See, I play a little guitar, mostly chording my way through stuff, nothing fancy. So, I need an Al song that would be OK for 'sensitive' ears, and would sound all right with just guitar strumming. Thoughts?

One More Minute and Good Old Days are the only ones coming to mind right now.

Good Old Days would probably work better. If you have that Weird Al Anthology book, you'd be pretty well set.

I do indeed have the AnthALogy. Good Old Days was one of the most complicated songs I learned in my first couple months playing, but getting the rhythms and chord changes down helped the rest of my playing tremendously.

This could probably go into Generic Al Blather.

Mods?
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I think we also have a topic for "Did You Ever Perform An Al Song At A Talent Show," or something along those lines.

Hmm.... You Don't Love Me Anymore? Unless that's too risque for their ears. :P

I would go with YDLMA for sure if I could play guitar.

On the topic of talent shows though, I sang Since You've Been Gone in 6th grade and Dare To Be Stupid in 7th grade using the backing tracks from the Amish Paradise and Gump singles. A friend of mine did Lasagna lip-synch one of those years too.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

For "Unlikely to Offend" ... what about Good Enough For Now?
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
