I wrote this my freshman year in college and recorded it a year or so later. I finished most of the instrumental tracks in the studio, but this was originally intended to be the demo, so the vocal tracks are pretty rough, as is the keyboard part. I eventually started recording the vocal parts in the studio, but since then it has been collecting dust on my hard drive.

I did a parody of "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" all about the excitement of album 14. It's only partially accurate because this was done the day after we found out that Al was parodying Iggy Azalea.

When I was in 10th grade, I wrote a parody of "Empire State of Mind" called "Garden State of Mind." Yeah, inventive, I know.
I turned it into a music video that was actually broadcast to the entire school on the morning announcements.

Not a day goes by without me wondering, Is that why I had no friends?

I did surgery on the lyrics to The Biggest Ball of Twine In Minnesota so that the result fits the tune of Gordon Lightfoot's Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald. Was tempted to post this to a Gordon Lightfoot forum but wasn't sure they or he would see the funny side... (to sing along it may help to know the original [Lightfoot] song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vST6hVRj2A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

... "be excellent to each other" ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Biggest Ball Of Twine In Minnesota [alternative 'Lightfoot Homage' version]

if I could go anywhere else in the world I wonder just where would I go ta?
you know what I'd like to see most in the world? - the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota

so I loaded the car up with puzzles and pies set the alarm clock to 'early'
pulled out of my drive as the neighbours waved 'bye' - thus began an incredible journey

I picked up a guy with a sign that said 'twine' he smelled bad and his name was Yoda
we drove for three antici-patory days to the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota

then finally just as the sun sank down in the distance I saw a great vision
in a shrine like a Chinese pagoda it stood well worth the price of admission

bin to Elvis-O-Rama, waxworks and even The Albino Squirrel Museum
ghost towns and theme parks, drive-through trees where it's ten bucks a throw just to see 'em

but twenty-one thousand pounds big as a room the biggest ball of twine can outdo 'em
standing in the aisle at the church of excess - to everything else you think 'screw 'em'

did anyone ask, where they got all the twine? you wonder what they were thinking
did they work full- or only part-time? was it something bad they were drinking?

I've been around, this great big world and there's nowhere that I'd rather go ta
if you undid the twine like the stems of a vine it would stretch all the way to Dakota

the long winding thing at the end of road is the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota

All of the songs Have written so far are mean spirited but humorous odes to people who have wronged me in the past which are too crude to put here, though I did write a parody of White Christmas talking about how the song isn't racist (people were calling White Christmas a racist song)

Oh, you should totally post that in the parodies thread!
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

It's not very good, but I'll post it there tomorrow. The lyrics are on my other computer.
