Ah... timeline? Mute option? I can't find either of those! This is the view I have: Movie Maker screencap. I used to use the Movie Maker that came with Vista, and it seemed to have more options.

Well, you could try just right clicking on a selected clip out of the ones you have imported and see if there is an audio option there. If there is one, you could just as easily click "mute".

No, right clicking doesn't have any audio options.
