It's not everyday that one of our own gets to follow in the Great Weird One's footsteps, and get a song played on the Dr. Demento show. I think thatoneguy deserves a topic in honor of that accomplishment.

WTG Matt. Here's wishing you great success for this song and many others in the future!

Wtg, Matt! It's so great that 1955 will be played on Dr. D!! It's a wonderful song!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Wow! I don't know what to say!!! Thank you guys very much! I've been playing the accordion and making funny songs since 1997. Since then one of my main goals has been to debut on the Dr. Demento show. I have used the criticism that Dr. Demento, Bermuda, and friends have given all these years to help better myself and now I've done it!

Yes, this is a very big deal! I have worked my butt off to create Dr. Demento worthy material. I remember a lot of times when I was recording I would look at Al's pictures on my walls and just think of him trying to encourage me to follow in his footsteps.

I have been sending the good Doctor my material since 2000, and I am very honored to debut on his show! When I read the E-Mail he sent me saying that 1955 will be airing on the 16-17th I about had a heart attack, not to mention give everyone else in the house a heart attack.

Remember you can hear the Dr. Demento show online Here. The earliest you can hear it is on Saturday morning. I will be posting the clip of it in this thread.

For those of you who havn't heard 1955, you can hear it Here.
Thanks for my own thread, Bobbi! I'm flattered! Nice avatars and sigs! :whoot:

PS. I'll send Dr. Demento the link to this thread

Congrats again, Matt! I knew that song (and you!) had potential. :Y

(that's why I played it for the literally fives of people that listen to my "radio show")

I'm sure it'll do great... keep up the good work!

It has been a goal of mine since I was 12 years old in 1997 to debut on the Dr. Demento Show. I found an old post of mine from when I was 14 in 1999 from AMWA. Here's proof of how long I've been wanting this. Check it out! Note that I'll be 21 in October.
