Hey all! No, unfortunately I haven't found the disk yet. But to assure you that this thread will be revived, and just to make your mouth water, try to catch me in the chatroom this weekend. I will be answering questions about the story. Things I will NOT answer are:
1.Who is the homicidal maniac?
2.Any personal questions, or
3.Anything concerning the last three chapters of the story.
Keep in mind that if a question is not any of those it still may not be answered if I don't see it to be a fit question.
[thinks about reporting his zip disk to the abscence topic]

CHAPTER 9: The Ranch
We all came in and Michael sat us down at the table. "I'll be right back," he said. He soon came back with a few plates of food and asked us why we were down there.
"Well, I came in search of my family. You haven't happened to see a little boy and young woman running around, have you?"
"No, unfortunately, I haven't. Why, did they get lost somewhere?"
"Yeah, out in the forest. It's really been a thriller night."
Michael gave me a very serious look. I could hear Joel laughing at my accidental word choice.
"Hmm... Jim, have you seen anyone? And what about your friend, Steve?"
Jim, who had been quietly feeding a fish in a corner, looked up. "Nope, haven't seen anything. Don't know about Steve, though. He's been out all day."
As if on cue, the door flew open. In walked a tall man, who spoke in a deep voice, "'Lo there! Who are the visitors?"
I greeted him, "Hi, I'm Al Yankovic. This is my daughter, Superfly, and my two friends, Joel and Bermuda."
"Pleased to meet you," he said, "I'm Steve Jay."
I felt Superfly tug on my sleeve. "Dad..."
"Not now, I'm busy!"
"What brings you guys here?" Steve inquired. I explained our troubles to him. Michael went upstairs.
"Man, I feel bad for you. Anything we could do? Maybe provide a place for the night? We have some comfy rooms upstairs."
Again, as if they were in a horror movie, a piercing scream was heard from the second floor. I jumped, Joel both fell on the floor unable to pull themselves up, and Superfly began to cry. Jim and Steve ran down a hallway to the stairs. A minute later, they came back with Michael, who was laughing like a maniac. "Ha ha! Oh man, you guys were really scared! Oh boy!"
"You can ignore him. He likes to play cruel tricks on people," Jim explained. "But really, would you like a place to stay for the night?"
"No, that's quite all right, we'll get back to camp now."
"You sure? It's pretty dark out..."
"Yeah, we'll be fine."
So we were lead out the door and found ourselves in the darkness once again...
