I type too fast for my own good; I meant "of". POTO is really the only thing I know, besides boring Shakespeare stuff >_>;; The local theatre here is quite ... empty.

I could think of a lot of broadway shows off the top of my head. There's Les Misérables, Chicago, A Chorus Line, Cats, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia, and lots of others.

So, are we thinking Broadway parodies, with a plot centered around Al?

A musical of Al trying out for multiple Broadway plays but can't help but sing his roles as polkas instead and bombing every autidion.

That can be part of a montage where he's "finding himself." :accordion:

Until he goes "@#$% this!" and writes his own musical. Then it becomes a play about a play.

To expand on the Al trying out for Broadway shows theme, perhaps Al could essentially play a "Skipper Dan" character--as he desperately tries to find his big break, he takes on crappy roles as a street performer, Ex-lax commercials, etc. but it never leads to anything. His roommate, also an aspiring actor, is initially a Bob from UHF buddy sort of character, but that changes when he lands a great part, causing some tension between him and Al.

What if it just is about Skipper Dan? He seems like a character with the most comedic/dramatic/far-reaching potential.

I thought it was supposed to be about Al like how A Very Potter Musical is about Harry Potter.
