Foil at my school's Performing Arts Showcase

Post by drewdy9999 »

So my high school puts on a "performing arts showcase" at the end of each year, pretty much a talent show open to students who are actively involved with performing arts at the school. This being my senior year, I decided I wanted to participate, and Foil seemed like a good fit to perform live. To sing the song, I took the notes to Royals, raised them up an octave (to where Al sings it), then down three steps to a range where I could hit the notes, and adjusted the music accordingly. I also recruited three friends, one to harmonize and two to sing backup vocals. I'm so happy with how it turned out... the audience's positive reaction and supportive comments I got after the show made last night one of the best times I've ever been on stage. Take a look if you're inclined to do so!

The only glitch (aside from a little bit of mic interference) was that the blue curtain behind me was supposed to be open to make the light change more noticeable. I don't think it mattered too much though.

You enunciate better, and have better vibrato, than Al.

Perhaps you should post the video embed on Jim West's Facebook. That would be cool! :viking:
