I did a quick search on 'cosplay' here and did not notice a topic for it. Please merge if I did not look hard enough.


So here we can share pictures, plans, stories, and of course help each other out with various Weird Al related costumes.

Whether you're approxiamting his iconic public style (e.g., hawaiian shirt, Vans shoes, glasses/grooming, accordion) or perhaps a music video/ concert costume. Maybe you're going as a UHF or Weird Al Show character. Maybe it's a character Al played in a show (e.g., Banana Man from Adventure Time or Cheese Sandwich from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic If it connects to Al's oeuvre then by all means post it here.

Starting things off with my own plans: I am looking to do White & Nerdy concert-costume cosplay for Anime Boston. I could use some help finding the bling he wears around his neck. I can't get a good look at it let alone know what to put in my Amazon / Google search.

Also is he wearing Vans during the song?

Although I currently don't have a cosplay for any upcoming concerts, it makes me extremely happy that this is actually a thing. I didn't even know there were other people interested in cosplaying as a Weird Al character!

I've seen an Al cosplay at Rhode Island Comic Con 2014, a Cheese Sandwich at Anime Boston 2014, and I remember during some Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom shows on the Poodle Hat Tour/ Straight Outta Lynwood tour a Dare To Be Stupid cosplayer who used to post on here, and a Like A Surgeon cosplayer during a Poodle Hat tour show at Foxwoods casino.

I've also done a Couch Potato costume for Halloween when I was just a lad. I was a special kind of optimistic when I thought people would actually get it just because I wore the shirt under the unzipped hoodie.

At my very first concert I did the hawaiian shirt thing. I didn't start cosplaying until my second concert where I did a double White & Nerdy (gangsta on top, nerdy underneath. whatup), but I've been cosplaying to shows ever since. I've worn a chicken hat to almost every show since 2007, idk if that counts but he will start cosplaying as well starting this tour. I have some new costumes planned for upcoming shows........

Actually, I just remembered that my chicken hat HAS been cosplaying for a little while already - last tour, he went as the Perform This Way peacock! That's what the blue feathers are. The feathers are gone this tour, though, and have been replaced by something else.......

Hey, I'm in one of those photos! (wore a chicken mask and Canadian Idiot streamers as a "pocket square.")

I would cosplay given that I ever have a reasonably cheap costume that I could coordinate. I have a couple of shirts that have Al has worn on tour, but nothing that would be largely recognizable. I used to have White & Nerdy boxers that I wore over my pants the night of my very first Al concert, but I don't feel the inclination to dig that photo up and show it off for... reasons. Regularly, I like breaking out Al-themed shirts or Hawaiian shirts and black pants. I REALLY want those insanely expensive jackets and pants that Al used for the Alpocalypse photo shoot and the Beverly Hillbillies performance on the last tour.
