How are you able to give out points for this contest based on parodies?

This was really hard to whittle down to just 14 songs. Here goes!

Psy - Gangnam Style
Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Justin Timberlake - Suit and Tie
Daft Punk - Get Lucky

I even worked out some of the transitions between the songs. In my head, it's a great medley!

After you nailed the parodies, I feel like I need to learn all of these songs. I know a lot of them already, and it looks like a very solid list.

Jon's is a good list, but I still say "Brave" will be in there somewhere. I can almost hear it. Still, I don't know enough about the landscape of popular music over the past few years to even try to participate in this contest.

How are you able to give out points for this contest based on parodies?

Well, the parodies aren't likely going to be in the polka, so I see the logic.

Huh. Well... A person who picked a parodied song is necessarily going to have 50 points less than someone who didn't. And... everyone starts with 100 so that it isn't negative?

Now I see what it is. Killingsworth included this dumb rule in the fine print:

If you guess a song that winds up just being parodied instead, you would just get 50 points for accurately guessing that song would be on the album.

My fault for not noticing this sooner, but obviously you should not get points for guessing songs that are NOT in the polka! At most, this should be worth 10 points each, not 50.

So... theoretically a person could have 250 points right now for guessing five whole songs that could not possibly be in the polka.

How are you able to give out points for this contest based on parodies?

Yeah, as others have pointed out I decided to just go ahead and give out points for songs that we've unanimously decided (for now) are going to be parodied on MF and therefore likely excluded from the polka medley.
