So I was pleasantly surprised to see the book brought in by someone on "Pawn Stars" aired on August 8. Rick was extremely positive in what he said about Al, and he knew quite a bit about him -- pretty spiffy. He bought it for $425 bucks, as I remember. Anybody else see this?
Specifically, I remember him talking about how the masses don't really take Al seriously, but people in the music industry do and he deserves the praise. He talked about how it's a right of passage or an honor for Al to parody you, as well as how he's "one hell of a businessman" for selling over 12 million albums.

The Authorized Al on Pawn Stars
Really? Very cool. I love that show! I just set it up to record the re-run at 2 a.m. I'm glad Rick knew the real value.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

It doesn't show the book in any of the episode description that I see, but I'll try to keep an eye out for it. That's really cool.

He paid $425 for it? Granted, my copy isn't in mint condition or anything (I'd rate it very good though) but I got it for something in the $25-35 range IIRC.

I want that book!!! My eyes lit up like two giant head lights when I saw that book on pawn stars. Being a die hard I was praying Rick got all of his info right on Al and he was right on the money.

Nice to hear that Rick knows his stuff when talking about Al, and calling him "one hell of a businessman" was an added bonus. $425?? I think I paid around $40 for mine. It has a little bit of staining on the cover and a fold on one corner, but other than that, it's ok. Wow..

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

$425 does seem pretty steep. I would have to think that means Rick will be trying to sell it for at least $550. I think the most I've seen one go for on eBay was about $300. I paid $55 for mine, but the cover is kind of in rough shape.

I was surprised to see it go for so much, especially at a pawn store! My copy is in near excellent condition and I think I paid $20 for it years ago. I had a chance to get it autographed at Alcon in 2002, maybe I should have.
