Ok can we drop this now? for whatever reason FredHuggins wants to be anon.

If that means we continue to get great clips and insights etc we might not get otherwise, I am all for not killing the goose that lays the golden eggs..

Besides.. I like FredHuggins and don't want him (or her) to disappear. mmmkay?

Wow, 2010 will be a great year! A new album, book (or was that in 2011?), and movie!

It's too late to drop it. I already cross-referenced the databases and figured out who he is. Shocking, really, but now I know.

I'm intrigued. Any idea what network this would be for? VH1? Comedy Central?

Him. Or so I've been told.

Actually, I know EXACTLY who he is. I cracked the code years ago. Meet me in the basement of the Alamo at EXACTLY 2:27 AM last Thursday, and I'll sell you the map to the first clue. I only accept Italian currency made before 1971. And be careful - the fate of nobody's life depends on this.

But to elaborate on something Fred said earlier, a screenplay deal doesn't necessarily mean that production is set in stone. On the "UHF" DVD Al and Jay discussed in the commentary that they signed a deal with some other studio to develop the plot of "UHF" into a full-fledged screenplay, and it would still be a couple of years later for them to sign a deal with the producers and then Orion to actually produce the movie.

I don't understand the whole mechanics of getting something from an idea to an actual movie, but what Al said specifically was that he'd signed a production deal.

There's still a long time between the signing of a production deal and the release date though.
