I have never seen American Pie but I heard it got a NC-17 rateing before they edited it. But I have to say that sixteen candles is a much better movie for younger viewers. And I dont believe UHF is PG-13, because its silly movie (mean that in a good way) and it doesnt have anything bad in it.So they should change it to PG.

Yeah, I see what you mean...Well, my parents made me wait till I was 16 to see...'Sixteen Candles'..(How ironic of them!)...Teens should definetely see it, but not until...well..16 is a reasonable age...
And there's no reason why "UHF" should be PG-13 in my opinion. My little sister (currently 8 ) saw it at age 5 and wasn't scarred for life by scary visions of flying poodles or anything...in fact, we now recite lines together...we can do entire scenes...it's kinda pathetic actually...
She's also seen tons of other PG-13 movies like 'Mrs. Doubtfire' and 'Josie and the Pussycats' and well, she turned out ok so far...
So I guess it's a matter of maturity, mostly. But everyone I've watched UHF with, regardless of age, has found it extremely funny for one reason or another...
ttyl all!

My Mom waited until I was 16 to see Sixteen Candles too so theres nothing wrong with that. I just think that some movies should be veiwed at a certain age but UHF is not one of them, at any age its a good movie to see. I dont think its pathetic to know the lines to UHF its cool. And your right it is a matter of maturity.
