I was halfway through making a list of the Christmas DVDs when I realized a writer at the AV Club beat me to it.

And I agree that it isn't funny. I expect better Al gags from The Simpsons writers than "LOL, all his songs are about food!" As if Al would release a DVD only containing the performance of one parody too.

Yeah the Weird Al cameo was the only thing interesting about the episode. Even it it barely makes sense. I guess it was the name of a live show released on DVD in there universe.
and yeah the episode itself was bad, in fact NON of the episodes Al has been on have been very good.

According to The Simpsons panel at Comic Con, Al is set to guest star again this season.

And for those out there who are fans of songs from The Simpsons, there will be a series of events in September at The Hollywood Bowl where the voice cast and Weird Al Yankovic will perform famous musical numbers from the show.

Boy do I wish I could be there.
