Last week on NPR's Talk Of The Nation program they interviewed Al about Christmas novelty music.

The interview can be heard here: http://www.npr.org/features/feature.php?wfId=1569335

You may have to upgrade your Real Player to hear it (I had to), but there's a link to the free software on the audio page of the interview.

Also, the program is 40 minutes long. Al is the 3rd guest and he comes on around 21 minutes into it.
This means something. This is important.

Not necessarily, Driew, since it is a radio interview. That means media. So she's right. Although it could go in WAY surfing, it's not out of place here.

Not necessarily. The reason this section of the forum was created was to allow for threads about current interviews to be independent of the WAY surfing thread. People may want to discuss this separately. If not, it'll just fade out quietly.

Fine, whatever. :sarcasm: I can't get the audio to work anyways. I click on "Listen to blah, blah, blah" and I select my audio and then nothing happens.

El, thanks both for letting us know about this and for telling us where in the show Al appears. If you listen to it with Windows Media, you can move the slider ahead with your mouse and skip directly to Al's portion. Or, of course, you can listen from the beginning and get all that cool Christmas science stuff. :)
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

You might have to update your player. And there's no need to roll your eyes at us! :P

That was a very interesting interview. It was nice to hear Al giving perspective on what variables he considers before writing a parody. It really gives us some insight into Al's genius. And I agree with Al. The extra gory version of "The Night Santa Went Crazy" is much better.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

That was a nice interview. I like hearing all the bits of what can be acceptable now for novelty Christmas songs.
