Yeh, I've wondered (because I'm weird I guess!) about Al continuing to refer to non-vegan things in his songs. It seems like almost every food he refers to in his songs is something he can't eat! (assuming he is a strict vegan). . .

. . .So I just wonder if he thinks talking about stuff like that is funnier than talking about steamed beets!

I think he's just picking mainstream food to make fun of mainstream pop culture with.

But nothing is funnier than kohlrabi. Unless it's mangelwurzels.

Scotti, the picture of Al eating a cookie is from the RWS tour:

And I also have a picture of him just about ready to eat piece of candy~ chocolate candy. This is also a more current pic. Not sure if I can share it, as someone sent it to me. He did not say he wouldn't accept my chocolate, so I'm guessing he does eat it. One of the fans at AlCon had Rice Krispie treats, and offered to share them with Al, but he said he couldn't because of the gelatin in the marshmallows. So he will tell people when he can't eat something. I will conitinue to make chocolates and cookies for Al *and give them to him*, as I'm pretty sure he does partake.

Santa takes a bite of Vixen and says it tastes like chicken!

I believe the reindeer in question is Blitzen. Vixen's still in therapy. Which is understandable...

And let's face it, vegetarian food just isn't that funny.

On stage?? During TSB?? Are you sure it's not just one of Bermuda's funny captions?

This is the picture I thought you were talking about.

OE, the whole whipped cream pie thing, I think it was Diva who said this was not too long after Al had the LASIK surgery, so she was thinking maybe the whipped cream irritated his eyes. *She was there at his 40th birthday concert in Ottawa.* This was a little over a year after the surgery. Not sure how long it takes to recover from that, but I imagine that could irritate your eyes anyway. And if the pie was made with Reddi-Whip, that is a non-dairy product. Not sure how, but that's what it says on the can. Hmmm. Al was armed with silly string and got a few people back, IIRC. hehe!

It says right on there that Jon took over vocals, and you can see Al has something in his hand. It looks like he's going to eat it, too! I think this is true, I think he really was eating a cookie.

Doh! You're right, sorry about that! And that's one of my favorite songs, too (*hangs head in shame*). I know the words when I sing the whole song, but just trying to remember the line by itself I messed up!

And you're probably right OE about making fun of mainstream food. For it to be funny, it either has to be something really common or commonly known about. :)
