Reading up on the backlash to these articles... maybe Al should've just kept quiet about omitting the songs...

There was barely anyone commented on it outside the Weird Al fandom, and now, everyone is going nuts.

Is there really any backlash though? Personally I am glad they are gone for many reasons, though I wish some old parody had been added into the acoustic medley to replace Eat It. Addicted To Spuds or something. Feels a little short with only three songs now.

Well, there's a section of Twitter that seems to be upset. I'm not sure if it extends beyond that, but it seemed kind of daunting at first.

I'd be okay if Al never did them again, to be honest. I honestly wanna see other parodies in their places as well, lol.

Yeah, it feels weird that he had to make a public statement about this, because it wasn't a huge talking point in the first place. There wasn't some huge outcry about him not performing the MJ parodies, so I'm not sure why he decided to make such a publicized statement (on a subject which unfortunately seems to be decisive). Hopefully it's just that small section of Twitter, and this headline will amount to nothing.
