Weird Al on the "Drew Carey Show" 5-27-03

If you hadn't noticed Weird Al is appearing on the Drew Carey show and he's showing up as a lead singer for Drew's band in the episode.

Is that show still on the air with new episodes? I thought it was cancelled a few years ago after the one in which aliens attack Cleveland, thus allowing Mimi to get Drew's long-awaited promotion.

No. it's a rerun of the "Drew Between the Rock and a Hard Place" episode, which originally aired on October 14, 1998. It's being aired at 4:30 PM EST (3:30 CST) on Superstation TBS, where they regularly broadcast reruns of Drew Carey.

And as for current "Drew Carey", it was put on hiatus starting in late January of 2003, initially only to make room for February sweeps. Then it got pushed back to the hiatus in summer. [They've still got 5 episodes already shot that were supposed to air in March and April, but never started.] It appears to still be part of the ABC schedule so far.

I love that episode!! It is simply the coolest DREW on earth. I used to watch that show all the time. I even have a Drew doll and a MIMI doll still in the boxes. They need to make an AL doll. I made one but, it's not the same. It does have a Poodle Hat though!
