I received my copy yesterday. I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, but the poster that came with it is the cover art from the Blu Ray.

Jonah Ray Tweeted yesterday that he appears in the special features on this Blu-Ray. I am guessing he was on the Comic-Con panel.
His tweet:

"BRAG TIME: This year I appeared in DVD extras for Weird @alyankovic's "UHF" and @Metallica's "Through The Never". smurf you, young me!"

I asked if he meant to say "blu-ray" instead of "DVD", and he said yes.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Cool! I thought it was nice of him to respond to me. He's my lame claim to fame, because I almost got to meet him.

I'm excited for the release date of this Blu-Ray of such a good movie in my opinion; it comes out on Veteran's Day! :bigups:

I have not watched the feature yet on Blu-Ray as I promised someone I would wait to watch it with them ( :w ), but I did watch the special features. I had seen the Q&A already from someone who had recorded the entire event on their own camera. That is definitely pretty cool to have, though it had very little to do with UHF and was more just a Q&A about Al's entire career. All of the other material on the Blu-Ray -- deleted scenes, behind the scenes, commentary, trailers -- if I'm not mistaken, is exactly the same as what was included on the DVD five years ago. That is a little disappointing. However, if the feature program is indeed an HD remaster from the original film, rather than the SD/video version we've seen on the VHS, DVD, and when it aired on cable, then that alone is worth the price.

It is remastered, but it's the same remastered version that has been airing on various HD Movie channels for the last 10 years. Unfortunately movies this old can only look so much better in HD.

This is a completely untrue statement. UHF was shot on film, which is substantially higher quality than HD. In theory, if the right amount of attention was devoted toward the remastering process, this should look as sharp as any HD film (depending on storage conditions of the master film reels since 1989).

I'm still excited, whether it'll look good or not.
