This is a case of the fine line between style parody and "sounds like." Yes, Skipper Dan sounds like two Weezer songs, but I don't think it's a true style parody in that it does not make fun of that style as nearly all of Al's style parodies do, everything from Dog Eat Dog to CNR, Buy Me A Condo to Craigslist. This one does "sound like" Pork & Beans and Island In The Sun but it doesn't really mock the Weezer style whatsoever.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

I don't think it's ever been "officially" confirmed, but you can definitely hear the similarities, especially in the style of the guitar playing. Listen to the little riffs after the lines "Doctor every night I have the strangest dreams....." and so on. And even more so the sounds throughout the chorus.TheLazenby wrote:Never heard of "Stuck In A Closet" being attributed to Aerosmith.
Also, the Al's vocalizations on this song are extremely Steven Tyler-esque. The way he adds an "-uh" at the end of the lines - "Doctor listen to me tell me what this means-uh". Also when he goes "That's right!" in the last verse - just like Tyler would scream it.
But the most obvious giveaway are the Steven Tyler shrieks near the end - "Yeah yeah yeah yeah!" and so on.
One of the songs it sounds most like is "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", which was released as the first single from "Permanent Vacation" just a month before "Vanna White" was recorded. "Permanent Vacation," as you may remember, "Permanent Vacation" was Aerosmith's big come back album. Listen to "Dude," especially to the end run.

Has Al ever done a straight parody of the Beatles? From what I see, all of the songs are either unreleased or included in a polka. The Beatles are anything but dead, and there's been plenty of opportunity to take them on.
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

He's tried many times, and got tuned down on all of them.
Our best bet at this point would be a style parody.

"My Generation" - Covered at least once in concert, and once on TV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FwlZvZ47-w" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;THE WHO
* Won't Eat Prunes Again (direct parody of "Won't Get Fooled Again") - unreleased
* Polkas On 45 (includes "My Generation") - In 3D
I think that clip is from a TV show.

Thanks for that explanation, Bruce. I'd always wondered what Stuck was supposed to be a parody of (obviously something), but now that you point it out I think it's clear that you're right.

Added the songs from the "Salute to the Grammys Polka". Also added "Don't Download This Song" to Michael Jackson's list, as it's mostly a style parody of "We Are the World."
