Re: Al as accordionist
At the very, very end of Headline News, he plays the melody on accordion for a bar... I'd love to hear more of that, but unfortunately, that's all we got. :-(

And, I know this topic isn't really about this, but I'd love to have heard "Canadian Idiot" with an accordion solo.

Re: Al as accordionist
I'm disappointed that he cut the solo in Canadian Idiot altogether. It's not like it was even a long song to begin with, why cut it? He's never been the type to cut entire sections from the songs.
Kind of what separates him from a lot of other parody musicians, really.

Re: Al as accordionist
Isn't there just a bit too much accordion on the first album? I'm sure one could point to any of those songs: I Love Rocky Road, Another One Bites the Dust, a couple others. Plus, as mentioned, all the polkas...
I hear ya on that. Should've kept it. I like it either way though.weirdojace wrote:I'm disappointed that he cut the solo in Canadian Idiot altogether. It's not like it was even a long song to begin with, why cut it? He's never been the type to cut entire sections from the songs.

Al has said before that he cuts music out because its not funny. I dont know how long the solo is, so I cant say if thats why it was cutweirdojace wrote:I'm disappointed that he cut the solo in Canadian Idiot altogether. Re: Al as accordionist
He's shortened solos before, but doesn't really ever cut them entirely. Plenty of his originals have guitar solos, and in a lot of parodies he keeps them in.
