Why Does This Always Happen To Me was meant to be a style parody of Ben Folds Five, not Ben Folds. A completely different act, really.
And I still think you should be counting P@TLC...

On Bad Hair day, you forgot that syndicated inc. is a song parody of "Misery" by Soul Asylum

Which song is the Hilly Michaels style parody mentioned in the latest "Ask Al"?

Not sure... what kind of music did Hilly Michaels do?

Just added something - credited Happy Birthday as a style parody of Tonio K's "Funky Western Civilization". The two songs don't sound alike, but the lyrics to the verses are VERY similar. Haven't heard much Tonio K though - anyone have an idea of what song he was spoofing for the background music??

Great list!

Keep up the good work!

Just because I'm slightly anal, and it's really just thrown in there briefly, you can add "Girl You Know It's True" to the list of Milli Vanilli songs parodied for The Plumbing Song.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I really think it's not appropriate to call "I Remember Larry" a style parody of See The Constellation. Two TMBG style parodies on one album? If you're trying to make a definitive list of parodies and style parodies, you've got to take that one out man.

This is totally off-topic, but to prevent the wrath of algonacchick from coming down upon you, let me just tell you the spelling is algonacchick.

TMBJon, it's not unusual for Al to do a twofer.

* Even Worse - two Tommy James parodies, "I Think I'm A Clone Now" and "Alimony." Yes I know, he parodied COVERS, but they're still Tommy James songs.

* Alapalooza - two Peter Gabriel style parodies, "Waffle King" and "Talk Soup". (They're very obvious style parodies of "Sledgehammer" and "Steam".)

* Bad Hair Day - two Soul Asylum parodies, "Syndicated Inc." and "The Night Santa Went Crazy."

* Polka Party! - two Kinks style parodies, "One Of Those Days" and "Don't Wear Those Shoes." (These songs spoof the Kinks' "Ducks On The Wall" and "Father Christmas".)

I guess you could argue that he wouldn't do TWO twofers on one album, but still, it's not unusual for him to do that.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else consider "Traffic Jam" to be a straight parody of "Let's Go Crazy", instead of just a style parody? I know it's not officially considered as such, but everything's the same - the verses, the choruses, the instrumental breaks; the only thing Al didn't spoof was the intro.
"Dearly beloved... we are gathered here today to get through this thing called... traffic." :Y

Oh yes, and I officially attributed "Leper Colony" to Bo Diddley's "Willie And The Hand Jive". They're just too close. I think Bermuda called it a Springsteen parody, because Bruce might've covered that song.

Also, isn't there supposedly a Beck song that sounds like "Wanna B Ur Lovr"?
