Well, I believe he was in his early 20s when he wrote it. And of course he knew what he was doing. (yes, I do think early 20s is very young)Manda @ Jan 1 2005, 10:54 AM wrote: I don't think he was very young. But I don't know when he wrote it. Eh, nonsense! You're never too old to write a silly song about boogers.
btw, the song was recorded in January, 1981. So Al was 21 at the time, since he hadn't had his birthday yet that year. 21 is very young in my book, too.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Well, we all know how Al has been (and is) influenced by other performers. There's really no need to "Blame It On The Boogie" (1). He's just unafraid to try new things, and basically has the "Fearless Boogie (2). At least we can all be thankful that he isn't plagued with the "Dirty Boogie" (3), or worse yet the "Jungle Boogie" (4) (which is normally cause by being bitten by the "Tube Snake Boogie" (5)). I can imagine him as a child, with his "Backyard Boogie" (6), trying to stay on the straight and narrow, so he wouldn't end up with the "Gangsta Boogie" (7) or a "Bad Boy Boogie" (8.. Nope, he just kept his "Boot Scootin' Boogie" (9) to himself, and never participated in any of those "Jump Shout Boogies" (10). And on that you can place a pretty sizeable bet down with your "Casino Boogie" (11) and come up a winner!
Oh, "I Gotta Boogie" (12)!
