I finally got around to watching my Compleat Al laserdisc. One reason I waited so long is that I have a tape I made a long time ago when it was shown on Showtime, and I've watched that several times. It was interesting to see what was cut from the video when Showtime played it. I'm pretty sure the whole Japan sequence was cut as well as all the Al TV segments, since I don't remember seeing them before (except maybe once when they were on MTV).

I just got a copy of it on laserdisc as well. I loved seeing it for the first time ( abstained from the VHS version, cause i'm a stickler for quality) and I gotta say it was worth the wait. Favorite part was the state of shock video.
