Weird Al playing at Best Buy!!!

Post by Captain Tylor »

Wow, I walked into Best Buy the other day to pick up the anime "read Or Die"...........and I couldn't believe my ears!!! Couch Potato was playing on the speakers all through the store, and people were moving to it and a few were laughing. It was awesome!! I love it when Al gets air time at places like this because I really associate them with playing "IN" music. This made my day!!

Awesome!

I can tell Poodle Hat's doing very well. I don't think RWS got this much attention!

I was at a Suncoast last week, and the cashier was telling me how he grabbed a copy from the next-door Sam Goody and started playing it in the store instead of a movie!

Now that's odd and amazing considering I can't find the UHF DVD at a Suncoast.

That's even more bizarre, since every Suncoast I've been to recently has a little MGM display right in the front of the store. "UHF" is usually the first DVD I see when I walk in.

Why did it take me forever to figure out what you were saying?

For the most part, store help I've spoken with at various places at least have been aware that Al released a new album (which is more than I can say when RWS came out). I think I'd now be more likely to get the "is he alive?" look if I asked about the new Billy Joel album.

Is he still alive?

Come on, now. You knew someone would say it.

And with reason, considering the direction his musical explorations have been taking him in recently. Everyone knows that all classical music is written by dead white men.

Before they died. :choon:

Billy Joel update: last night he won a Tony for Best Orchestrations for the show Movin' Out.
