I'm curious what everyone's favorite Al song is that involves death. I know there's a lot of them and it would be cool to see how many Al songs have the theme of death. so if people just list their favorites maybe we can generate a list.
off hand I really enjoy The Night Santa Went Crazy and I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead.

I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead is absolutely one of my favorite Al songs. If that counts, I'll go with that one. Even though I think it's much more about being alive than being dead!

I would say it definitely counts, although I agree it's more about living.

Re: Songs About Death
Everything You Know Is Wrong has some of my favorite death lines, specially the ones about being in heaven. Can't not mention The Night Santa Went Crazy, I prefer the original to the extra gory unlike most and Jurassic Park.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Nature Trail to Hell in 3-D is my favorite song talking about death. I know it's more of a corny horror movie from the the 80's trailer. I still find it catchy with just the right amount of dead Boy Scouts.

Yeah, that is one I should have mentioned. Don't know why I didn't put that in my last post.

Re: Songs About Death
"Melanie" and "I Remember Larry" have similar plot twists involving death.
But, when it comes to most consistent death-ing, "Why Does This Always Happen To Me?" wins, hands down.

This one and "Good Old Days" are my favouritestomatochives wrote:But, when it comes to most consistent death-ing, "Why Does This Always Happen To Me?" wins, hands down.
I once have set "Good Old Days" as an alarm melody in my dad's phone. It amused me that he has no clue what it's about . I think he changed it back because it was too silent.

Re: Songs About Death
The songs where Al ends up dying somewhere in there but continues to tell the story make me laugh so much. "Melanie" and "When I Was Your Age" are good ones for this.
