I think it's Al's way of saying, "Let's see how much noise your clothes make in the drier". In other words, "Take of your clothes for some unorthodox reason that makes no sense."

Don't forget, Mr. Not Enough Ooooos In Smooth, is anything but. This is the guy who immortalized Yugoslavian Hands.

That's true. That's why he's attracted to people with mangled faces who smell like Fritos and wear elaborate, noisy outfits. I see the line as another one of the nobody-else-seems-to-be-attracted-to-these-attributes-so-I-will-be lines.

For all the sleazy pick up lines in WBUL, there are a couple of very charming ones that accidentally slipped in.

Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

And your nostrils are so nice. In Al-speak this is the ultimate compliment.

And of course, the Jamaican thing. :inlove:

I thought it was another back handed compliment (Like the fell from heaven line) If your cloths make a lot of noise in the dryer it means your out fit is loud. I don't know about any of the other stuff that has been metioned here, but it was a phrase we used when I was growing up. Believe me I've been accused of it on occasion.

I don't know, I kind of like the "not enough o's in smooth" line. As long as I think of Al and not Mr. Wanna B. hehe! I would think that Al is pretty smooth. hehe! He got Suzanne, didnt he?

Patti

Who thinks of her friend Suzanne when she sees that name. Haven't heard from her since high school.

Well, if we're lucky, Al will soon be singing this song to ALL of us. Although not, of course, with a view toward getting our clothes into the dryer.

Or else you can take the fact that Al got Suzanne (and Suzanne got Al) as evidence that "smoooooth" isn't everything. At least not if you're honest, kind, funny and. . . and. . .
