2 year anniversary of WOWAY events [Quiz !]

Hi,



As you probably know we almost exist for 2 year. To be exact, at 10/31/2001 around 7 pm (GMT +1) we started this forum. It grew enourmous the first days (we got like 50 new users in the first week) and it still grows this day.



To celebrate our 2 year existence, we have a couple of surprises for you. This topic will tell them.



First of all, we have a Bermuda Chat.

so, mark your calendars or PDA's or scribble on a Post-It note...



On Friday, Oct 31rd at 6pm (Pacific Time) there will be a Q&A chat for members only, featuring Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz. It is scheduled to last for 1 hour.



The Chat link appears at the top of these pages. You'll probably need to approve and download a small applet that enables you to chat within your browser. It's a harmless, temporary IRC program, and will disappear when you close your browser. It only works under Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher or with Mozilla 1.4.



You'll need Java which you can download Java for Internet Explorer here and Netscape/Mozilla/Firebird users can use this one.

Unix/Linux users can contact me about how to install. Macintosh users should try if it already works and if it doesn't, they can download Java on this site.

Next thing

On 11/01 there will be a game were you can win actual prices. The first price will be a drumhead provided by Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz. The second price will be a teddy-bear with the WOWAY logo on it and the third price will be free access to the WOWAY_lovers group. More details about this game will follow soon.



And last but not least, we finally can get rid of phpBB. After some testing and negotiating with the server guys I finally can change it. This will be at 11/3 around 6:30 pm (GMT +1). Details will follow soon.

For those who can't connect because the applet refuses to work, read on!



I finished programming the Non-java edition of the chat. It allows you to connect to the chat, even if you use a firewall. You can even chat yourself.

Too bad I can't enable the actual form to ask question to Bermuda because of security. But, you can see it yourself and chat within the open-chat!

WARNING: There's a limit of people who can connect thru the non-java applet. So, don't use it when it ain't neccesary. Try if the Java applet works and if it doesn't, try our brand new :
