It seems as if the concert is going to be moved.

Movies canceled, concerts moved

Does anyone know? Is there any "official" word on the location of this concert? Just wondering since wa.com still says Myers Park. I would imagine (I hope) that the Al-crew is aware of this situation. I am going to this consert and really don't want to have any surprises!

WEll, the link that Greg provided gave information regarding the concert on the 14th, *Weird Al Yankovic concert: July 14 at Third Monday Trade Days.

Here is the address: Third Monday Trade Days is located on U.S. 380 about two miles west of U.S. 75, between Bois D’Arc Road and Lake Forest.

Hope that helps

The concert this Saturday has been moved again!!!!

To the Garland Special Events Center.

Here is the link to the promoter's website with all the information:

http://www.sidebarent.com/

At least now it will be inside which is probably a good thing since I was not looking forward to watching a show in a flea market parking lot with Thunderstorms looming.

Only unknown is that it has become a General Admission 20 dollar a seat show.....after I had already bought 3 50 dollar tickets on the second row a couple of months ago. They say they will accomodate the prepurchased ticket seating charts as best as possible.....

Will have to see on Saturday....

/cheers

Here is the OFFICIAL E-mail I received:

To All Of You Patient Weird Al Fans Out There:

Sidebar Entertainment is pleased to announce (finally) that we have obtained a new venue for the Weird Al Concert to be held on Saturday, July 14 at 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

The grounds for the previous venue of Myers Park were not in condition for the concert to take place. You may have heard that the concert was then planned for Third Monday Trade Days in McKinney. The City of McKinney was reluctant to provide the necessary certificates due to traffic issues re: Third Monday Trade Days events also occurring this weekend.

Therefore, we looked high and low and finally found a venue. The new indoor, air conditioned, 6000 seat location is "The Special Events Center" in Garland Texas. Located at 4999 Naaman Forest Blvd., Garland, Texas 75040; this center is part of the Garland School District. (From Hwy. 190 / George Bush Frwy. go South on N. Garland Rd.)

All VIP and Reserved ticket holders will have main floor seating. VIP seating will remain the same. Reserved seating will have some minor alterations, in order for all the seats to fit. All remaining unsold tickets will be sold as General Admission ONLY at the cost of $20.00 per ticket. Parking at the venue costs $5.00.

Sidebar Entertainment apologizes for any inconvenience and for the fact that we have all been "pounding the pavement" and have not been available to take your calls.

Please come and enjoy the Weird Al Concert.

The Sidebar Entertainment Staff

Hi, new member here. :w

Anyway, I met Weird Al earlier today (about 3 hours ago). :whoot: I work at Sam's Club and he was there with 2 other people, he went through my line and purchased a pillow. I first thought he was just a look-alike but then noticed his signature on the reciept, then I was sure it was Weird Al (he signed it 'Al Yankovic'). So awesome to meet someone famous, but he did seem kinda tired so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, didn't ask for his autograph or anything. I was wondering why he was here in Garland, so I googled him and found this board. Just wanted to share this little story. See y'all. :peace:

Hi :w

Thanks for sharing your Al sighting with us! Sorry to hear he looked tired--that's really very cool that you didn't ask for an autograph or anything :bloem:
