How do YOU eat a Reese's?

Postby JKaudio » Mon Apr 14, 2003 9:54 am

OK, when you get your grubby little paws on Poodle Hat (upon taking the day of May 20th off from work, school, or other insignificant little annoyances in life), how will you first experience it?
Will you:
a) listen without interruption from track 1 all the WAY to the very end (then just let it repeat for months on end)
B) listen to a bit of each song (maybe a verse and a chorus) to get the gist before listening in entirety
c) polka first! then let the songs fall as they may
d) random mode baby!
e) I have my own specific ideas (please explain)

...as for me, I will likely pop the CD in my car's CD player the second I get out of the record store and listen to each song in it's enitrety until I get home where I will have a few seconds pause while I eject the disc and sprint into the house to continue listening on my home stereo for untold lengths of time... aaahhhhh May 20th, how I long for thee :sleepy:

I'll do A. Of course, I have plans on being at the store at midnight on the 20th, so I"ll be one of the early birds...

Well, I live very close to a record store, so I'll put it in my computer first to see if there are any special enhancments THEN I'll listen to the whole thing beginning to end without interruption. While I'm doing that I'll read the lyrics and the liner notes and enjoy the CD packaging.

And then after a couple listens all the way through, I'll go online to see what people's first impressions are, and perhaps post my own.

I won't know until I see the titles on the disc and promotion around it, but I'll probably play track 1 (the lead parody), jump to the polka, then listen to the other parodies on the disc based on what they parody. Then hit the lead parody and polka again and then I'll probably go back and listen to the entire disc straight through.

uhm.. when it arrives at my place I'll listen to it from the start till the end (uninterrupted!). Next, I'll convert the tracks to MP3's and burn it on a CD so I can listen to it in my car (I never leave original Weird Al CD's in my car).

Don't worry, my workstation isn't connected with KazAa or anything else. It's my private legal MP3 collection ;)

And finally, I seal the CD back in it's cover and put it with the other Al CD's I've got..

It must make you so proud to have countrymen of such discriminating taste that they might steal Weird Al music! :bigups:

I'll probably go with Plan A too. But I am going to try to be strong and wait until I'm home to listen to with headphones, so I can concentrate, instead of just popping it in the car stereo and dividing my attention between Weird Al and not running over innocent pedestrians.

I'm also thinking of sneaking up to the Tower Records where they let you listen to tracks in the store so that I can maybe listen to a few of the songs Al parodies. :listen:

You never know, I might discover that I like a parody-target enough to buy that artist's CD too.
