So, I found this thanks to Google: http://www.idahofair.com/concerts.php

It seems like Al might be getting an opening act, which I'm not about to doubt, given that it's at a fair. We might be seeing a shortened setlist here too, because of it. I will not be attending this one, but is anyone here going to cover this one?

Last time Al went through Idaho, there was no one from the forum in attendance.

That unfortunately is about what I was expecting. I guess Idaho doesn't contain too much of a similar following to the people gathered on WOWAY.

Who knows? Am I crazy enough for this? Week before the fall semester of college begins. Will have to see what other shows are around it, but I think it would be really cool to fly out there and drive around that part of the country. Never seen it before, and Al concerts, as an added bonus, good deal.

Tickets are free with fair admission for this show, and it looks like a pretty cool place for a show. Intimate stage w/ SRO. I'll take that for one.

Not really a whole lot to report from this. It was a shortened set, as well, using the same setlist as the Lane County Fair show from Eugene, OR.

I got a standing room spot, probably three rows back from the stage, if it'd been theater seating. Was decent enough, but had to spend part of the night, fighting off people sneaking in front. But, so goes a standing room show.

The promoters were on stage before the show, and announced that it was the biggest crowd they had ever had at the Idaho Fair for any act. When she said this, I saw Steve off-stage, and he pumped his fist. That was cool. It was a HUGE crowd.

Before TMZ, Al said, "Hello Idaho!" Then, at the end of the show, Al said, "Thank you Boise! I Love you All, Goodnight!"

Craiglist was hilarious, as he left the mic stand for part of the song. Went stumbling around the stage, almost losing his way, and looking like he may faint at any moment. The coffee shop was Moxie Java on Chinden Boulevard.

No stormtroopers for Saga Begins. Hermaphrodites sung Yoda.

Fun show.

A few things. It was a large crowd and he did a great job with entertaining in between his costume changes. If you have been a fan since you were a kid (as I have been at 40 yrs) then you got a selection of old and new with his ending Star Wars themes really hitting the geek. He also did an "Open Letter" to the snotty barista at the Moxie Java on Chinden Blvd. I don't think it was canned but I don't know if he really held up the line while playing Words With Friends with Alec Baldwin.

The crowd was into what he did even if they didn't know all the words and his theatrics were fun. Considering how backwards and lacking in progressive education, politics and thought I have found Boise in the last 8 years since moving here from northeastern Ohio it was a great turnout. Considering the country line up at fair with all the degenerate Redneck mentality (and attire) I found it refreshing and glad they secured Al and all his weirdness. I only came to Idaho Fair because of his performance and quit going once my kids no longer were in Ada County or in 4-H. So, maybe these events should hold more opportunities for transplants that are diverse and appreciative of performances like this. In comparison to to days of standing only room in Cleveland and the downtown rib cook off... this was along that line of enjoyment.

It's Boise, Idaho not a major metropolis that inspires performers to come here. A little more enthusiasm goes a log way for a free concert that you only had to pay a $7 admission to get into. Shortened set list or not... you got more than your monies worth if you can appreciate his talent and the location's limits.

It is details like these which make your reviews an indispensable commodity on WOWAY.
