"Say" at 1:01 sounds almost exactly like "Say, that reminds me of another amusing anecdote" in "Albuquerque." Al's next children's book (hell, make it a novel for adults) should be a prequel/sequel to "Albuquerque" and be no less than 827 pages.

Al's next children's book should be about an academic who survived the Stalinist purges and is now having flashbacks to that time, his daughter whose long, bitter marriage is falling apart around her and a journalist who's investigating the academic because he suspects he was never in Russia at the time and then he falls obsessively in love with the daughter and sacrifices his career to become a lense grinder in Omsk.

That's like the most clichéd children's book ever.

Well, instead of the academic and the journalist's daughter perhaps it could be about an elephant? And instead of the Stalinist purges and the divorce and the investigation, um... it could be about losing a balloon.

Now this is the kind of fresh and exciting children's book idea Al should be exploring!

I do see potential in the elephant losing a balloon book though. They could call it "Trunk, Trunk and Away!" That one's a freebie, Al! :Y

Brilliant! We'll call it Harry Potter and the Twilight of Da Vinci's Code!

I agree with the people who didn't like Al's fake voice for the read. The comparison to PATW is pretty right on, so I guess that's what Al thinks little kid's like. Though, on the plus side, I didn't even consider the possibility of an audio book. I didn't know they even did those for kid's books not called Harry Potter, so that's cool that I have yet another thing to track down. :Y

Somehow it's really hard to imagine Al using that voice to read to Nina.
