Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

I'm with Sarley, I'm the youth of the nation and the earliest years are the best. You just can't beat Gilda, Belushi, Aykroyd...

So do you think Al will ever host SNL or Mad TV?

Yes, the not-ready-for-primetime players! John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, Lorraine Newman, etc.

I miss the good old days...

Mad TV doesn't really have hosts... they have special guest stars and performances. I'd love to see Al on Mad, though. I find it to be A LOT funnier than what SNL has now. Doesn't it seem they try too hard to be funny? Though I must admit, they do good impersonations of presidents! :D

ugh! Mad TV is terrible. It used to be great in its first two or three years, but now its gotten as bad as SNL. But I wouldn't mind seeing Al on those shows. The truth is, however, if Al couldn't get on SNL, Letterman, Leno, or Conan during the days of OTDE or BHD, (his biggest selling albums of the last decade) I don't see him appearing on them now, especially without any videos playing on MTV (damn you Eminem)! He has a much better shot at getting on new, smaller talk shows with a shoe string budget and crappy guests. Like Tom Green! Maybe if we're lucky he'll appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (is that still on?) or Live with Regis and Kelly.
Hmmm. Just think about how much publicity and recognition Al would have gotten if he had been able to do that Couch Potato video!

Last night in Poughkeepsie Al's opening act was Jimmy Fallon. He came out after the show and I had the opportunity to ask him if he could use any influence he had to get Al on SNL. He said he didn't know what he could do, but it was just as much as a surprise to him (as it is to us) that Al has never been on it.
