I know I'm in the minority on this, but I hope he doesn't. We already know 5 of the new songs, and I want as much of the album to be fresh when it comes out as possible.

I really really would like him to do one of the new originals on this tour. The argument that one would want the new album to be "as fresh as possible" is bogus.

Yeah, I know it is. It's just a personal preference thing.

The reality of it is that most musicians do premiere new songs at concerts. And Al has done it in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, and I kind of hope it does.

Right exactly. Look at the precedent: Party At The Leper Colony, Since You've Been Gone. Presumably others.

"Headline News" was also premiered in concert before it was released. I'd say we'll get at least a few of the IL songs, and if he's got any parodies written, or even partially written, we'll see them. As parodies are usually time-sensitive, it doesn't make sense for him to hold it back for a CD he doesn't even know what year it will be released yet. Plus he can use the audience reaction to fine tune the lyrics and gauge the interest. Worst case, he decides not to use it, or doesn't get permission, it becomes a concert-only songs.

As for my wish list, I'm excited about all the new promotional material that comes with a new album or tour - posters, press kits, promo items, etc. I like seeing what they come up with, and hunting that kind of stuff down for my collection.

I agree about the promo materials. I am tired of seeing that gangsta pic anyway..

Im gonna say a new song live would be ok. Im more against the double dipping of new songs via iTunes then it being on the album.

All of the Internet Leaks would definitely not be considered "new" if done live. (I'd expect CNR, Skipper Dan, and Craigslist.) However, I would also like to see one of the two new originals Al recorded a couple months ago if not a new parody Al releases via iTunes in June with the big hit of the summer to coincide with his new tour??? :sly:
