Weird Al Covers Album?
After hearing how Al and the band did justice to “Beat on the Brat” how would y’all feel if he did a non-parody album of covers? If you would like that idea what songs would you like to hear?

If only Al released audio recordings of each show this tour, because then we would basically have a couple albums worth of covers (he wants to do a different cover every night)

I saw a clip of Al singing Tom Petty's Refugee.
The audience was going nuts. It was great!
I'd love to see him sing it at the afternoon show at the Wilbur Theater in Boston.

I asked him at his RI Comic Con Q&A if it was feasibe.
He's not interested. I vaguely recall that there are no plans to release this tour's performances either.
//sigh//
I would have loved to hear it.

Yeah, he had mentioned in a previous interview that it hasn't been 100% ruled out, but that it was very unlikely.CB Johnny wrote:I asked him at his RI Comic Con Q&A if it was feasibe.

Maybe if we bribe him...

I wish he would offer downloads to shows you attend. They could edit it out whatever cover he does and it would still be fine. It would be a good, cheap thing to add on to the VIP packages. Normally I wouldnt really care, but this tour has some awesome potential

Re: Weird Al Covers Album?
I would definitely be interested in downloads from the shows. Even if you wanted to tie it to just the shows you attended (you'd access the site via a code or something you'd get when you show your ticket at the venue), it would be fantastic! One of my favorite albums is made from the Elton John concert I attended several years ago. They sent me an e-mail about it the following morning and the show was already available to download or even buy on USB stick or CD. I've also purchased a download of a Metallica concert I attended last year. They even had lossless options for that, which I picked. I know that a friend got some downloads from various shows they attended like The B-52s and other bands. It's a great idea and a wonderful memory to be able to purchase. Please consider it!

Re: Weird Al Covers Album?
I'd absolutely be on board with a covers album and/or show downloads (Especially since it looks like I'll be sitting this tour out )
I think Al underestimates his non-Weird side too much
