lookeeee

http://www.avfair.com/ according to this poster Al will be at the AV fair in Lancaster on 21/8 surprised its not listed on the mothership

Weird Al Yankovic
Weird Al Yankovic takes to the stage Aug. 21st, delivering his unique blend of parody, comedy and . . . polka? Yes, for a man who learned how to play rock ‘n roll on the accordion, polka had to fit in there, somewhere. As for his influences in comedic and parody music, he credits Stan Freberg, Spike Jones, Allan Sherman and Frank Zappa, among others, as “wonderfully sick and twisted” artists. Other influences one might derive from his on-stage performance are Mad Magazine and Monty Python. When asked if artists ever deny him permission to do a parody, he noted that most are flattered, but the exception was the self-parodied artist formerly known as “The Artist Formerly Known As Prince”. Go figure. The song, Another One Rides the Bus, a parody of Queen’s hit, Another One Bites the Dust, is typical of the license Yankovic employs in his act. Fans can also relate to his satirical version of Knack’s My Sharona, which he conveniently converts to My Bologna. In short, Yankovic remains the king of pop culture parody.

Re: 2010 Tour

Cool! They sometimes hold back announcing dates to help with tickets sales for an earlier concert in the same general area. Lancaster is kind of close to Reading, so they probably won't announce Lancaster until enough tickets have been sold in Reading. Likely the same reason they haven't officially announced the Saturday OC Fair show yet. If you give people a choice, they'll say, "I'll catch him next time."

Anyway 8/21 is a Saturday, so, no question, I'm going! :yay:

Dave

edit: Just realized this was Lancaster, CA not PA so I won't be going. :S Anyway, it still holds true that they sometimes hold back announcing dates for one reason or another -- to help ticket sales elsewhere, or maybe they reached a verbal agreement but haven't officially signed the contract, or whatever.

Lancaster's fair was the last stop of the SOL tour. When I saw Lancaster, I assumed CA because it said "fair".

If you grew up on the East Coast you definitely would have thought PA. Man, why are we even talking about this? What else is up?

I had no idea there even was a Lancaster in CA until a few years ago. I think it would be entertaining to watch Al perform "Amish Paradise" in Lancaster, PA. :amish:
