Yeah, it was a James Brown-esque monologue that Jon would say to introduce Al, but instead of phrases like "the Godfather of Soul, the King of R&B" or whatever it would contain descriptions like "the Prince of Tides" or (more recently) "the Malcolm in the Middle."iisryan27 @ Jun 10 2004, 11:28 PM wrote: Hernia Rap?

That's cool. Why do they call it the Hernia Rap? (I don't listen to a lot of James Brown)
Cane and Rinse: weekly thoughtful video game discussion. Give it a listen, won't you?

Well if you mean why it was called the "Hernia Rap," that's because Jon first started reciting it on the Monkees tour as a way for Al to change into his costume for..."Living with a Hernia."iisryan27 @ Jun 11 2004, 12:24 AM wrote: That's cool. Or if you mean why it's referred to as a "Rap," probably because it's not necessarily a song but just a spoken word piece.
Keep in mind of course that it's just a casual name for it. Like the so-called "Fat Jam" at the "end" of concerts, I don't think it was ever really officially titled.
