And here I was thinking TNSWC was a style parody of Ozzy Osbourne's "Momma I'm Coming Home"... And so does Modular, aparrently, because he posted about the same thing.

Well part of it is definately from an Ozzy song (I forget the song, but I know we discussed this elsewhere), but it does sound an awfully lot like "Black Gold" from Soul Asylum.

Yeah, TNSWC definately sounds a lot like "Black Gold." And it's much better than Syndicated Inc. It makes me wonder why Al didn't just do TNSWC as a direct parody of "Black Gold" and then just do a different original song for the last one.

Vocally and musically it's a nice song, but comedically? Unfortunately I agree with Jeremy. I know, I'm shocked too.
And I usually really like the TV Guide songs. I Can't Watch This is one of my all time favorites, and CP is a great parody of a pretty mediocre song. Which makes CP a great song, and LY a lame song, in case that's not clear.
