Sol Nominated For A Grammy!

Wouldn't that be sweet-Al's 4th Grammy on Nina's 4th birthday?

I met Tony Papa in New York City at the Beacon Theater in 2000, a very gracious man indeed. I had him autograph my Weird Al songbook. I'd just be tickled if he got a Grammy for SOL.

A hopeful thought: with the Oscars, films directed/produced by actors are usually heavy favorites to win for Best Picture because the vast majority of Academy members are actors. Since Al is much more closely tied in with musicians than the other nominees, this might help him here. [Let's just hope that that doesn't lead to the reemergence of the dreaded 'spoken word comedy only' restriction. That one came up as the result of Peter Schickele's many comedy Grammys, since the classical musicians would vote as a bloc for him.]

Cheers [27 for Al and another 27 for Tony], Diva

I thought this was the infamous Yankovic Exclusionary Rule.

Wow, this is just awesome. I hope he wins both. Comedy Album, he has to win. I'm not sure on Surround Sound, but then again I didn't even know that was a category.

You know, I kept thinking February 11th sounded familiar. That would be really cool if Al won on Nina's birthday. Btw, crazygurl, Al will be married 6 years on February 10th, not 5.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?"

So awesome!

I didn't even know Prince was up for Best Comedy Album!

Al's got some tough competition.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Ok, fine, but you're the one who had to say that Prince wasn't nominated in either category Al was, like you didn't know.

Man, sometimes I hate coming here.
