Well, not entirely. He's still releasing shows on his website (
http://www.drdemento.com) for about $3 an episode. The only things that are changing now that the show is off radio is that 1) he can now play whatever song he wants uncensored and 2) a lot less people will have the opportunity to hear it because really, who wants to pay for internet radio?
It is an end to an era most certainly, but the Dr. Demento Show has been declining in popularity for more than a decade, so this isn't exactly surprising. It's sad to say but I'd guess that without the income he gets from radio stations, the show probably won't last longer than the rest of the year, but don't hold me to that, for all I know he could be making new shows for another 30 years.
And the winner of the Al-TV "One Night Stand" is.... nah.
