Al songs on Dr. Demento

Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

To answer several things. 1: There are no live shows. Dr D has a studio in his garage where he records all the shows and sends them out. 2: While you cant call him you can go to DrDemento.com and record a request that he may play, just like the old days. 3: You can pay $2 per show to listen to Dr D on his website. 4: I have tried many times to request songs that have never been played, such as Dr D Superstar. I'm thinking that if he didnt originally feel they were good enough for air, he wouldnt play them now. I think maybe if something happened to Al or Al retired Dr D would do a tribute show that may include something that had never been on.

Dr D. retiring maybe... but I don't think it's cool to wait for something to happen to Al before he does a tribute.

Lets get 'em while Al is alive and well. ;)

Well I was reffering to Al retiring. But Dr D retiring first is much more likely.

Someone asked Al why he wasn't on Dr. Dementos Basement tapes this year, it was because They have pretty much released everything now. and I guess they need quality recorded songs, and OOMO doesn't have a known recording that is actually decent quality

Does that imply that there is a known recording of OOMO?

I found a station that streams Dr. Demento!

WTKW in New York. They stream the show from 12-2am!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?"

So awesome!

And from the "Not Surprising At All" file, TK99 has updated their schedule.

Dr. Demento  WILL NO LONGER AIR on TK99. We are sad for Dr. Demento fans. We have aired the show for 15 years but the Demento parent company will no longer allow us to air the show because we stream our audio.

By my count, this leaves just seven--SEVEN!--stations that still air DrD. This is pathetic for a show with such a history behind it (just a year and change shy of its fortieth anniversary), and in the last year what hasn't helped has been the Good Doctor's streaming-gestapo tactics, which has done seemingly very little to build the show's radio audience but instead has turned stations against the show and alienated a fair portion of its fan base.

I just want to point out that just barely two weeks after the link to TK99 was posted here was the station denied the show. That cannot be a coincidence. Someone affiliated with the show in some way is clearly trolling related web sites and forums out there looking for info on stations that stream the show in order to go after them (a devious practice in of itself).

I think we're now finally at the point where this is moot, but let's make it a rule that if anyone comes across another station that streams the show online, please do not post the link...even if we have to establish some sort of word-of-mouth PM chain instead to get the info around.

Dr. Demento is dead.

I'm sorry to say it, but there's no reason to care about this show anymore. Its alienated its audience.

You REALLY shouldn't phrase your post like that when the name of the show is also the name of the gentleman who gave me his autograph last month! :o
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
