Me and my sister were watching TWAS this morning. She seems to think Al is lip-synching (sp?) and I think that he isn't. Any opinions/answers?

On the commentaries Al said that all of their musical guests (including when he and TBITB played) it was all live, but I'm pretty sure that he was lip-synching to "mini-music videos."

Do you mean all the short clips, like "Livin' in the Fridge", "Lasagna" and "Lousy Haircut"? I agree there, but when Al and the band performed "Yoda" for Harvey's birthday, that was live.

Just when Al is talking to Hooded Avenger, or Bobby. Just normally, when he is talking. Is he lip-synching then? I think not, but my sister is posotive that he is.

Um, that's ridiculous. Of course he was really talking when he was talking with the other cast members. Why would he lip synch then? It makes no sense.

Well sometimes a mic can cut out and they have to "loop" the sound. But it usually doesnt happen during shows taped in a studio, but it can. So he could have had to re-record some dialogue.

I thought a lot of dialog was re-recorded, just because ambient noise on the set can be a problem.

Well they were also on a set that didnt have an audience, so that cuts down on a lot of background noise. But tv shows usually have a lot less looping than movies.
