So Al is writing the new originals now and will be recording them in May. I wonder if this means we could have another album out as soon as summer/fall 2013??

So as for the originals, given that they are being written as we speak, any speculation as to which artists he may style parody? Personally, I am still hoping for that Bruce Springsteen style parody (or direct parody) as well as one of Radiohead and/or The Arcade Fire.

Considering the recent(and technically ongoing) thing with Nickelback a style parody might be in order. It could mock them or it could basically say "Yeah, you can say our music is bad but we're in Canada counting our bags of money and you're working at McDonalds" sort of thing.

Still not a big fan of Bruce, but I think its way past time for Al to do a Springsteen song, either style or regular. I actually thought it wouldve been neat if Fallon had Al on Springsteen week last week. And Im not holding my breath for the album. This one took so long, Id hate to see Al just rush out an album.

Doubtful. Even though the last original that was recorded was close to a year before album release, It's unlikely that it'll be 2013 that sees the release. 2014, I see as being much more likely. Possibly early 2014, but I don't think I can be that optimistic.
