The Food Album

I looked and I can't believe no one made an article for this yet!

I've always felt that of all the "cheesy" compilations put out, this one made the most sense. I know several of my friends who got into Al just because of this album, and I love the all-parody track-listing. The cover art is kinda disturbing though.

Hah, yeah is a genius idea for a compilation. I have the food Album and the TV Album on cassette. I love the cover art for both compilations!

Not going to lie, I listened to this and the TV Album a LOT of times when I was first getting into Weird Al. I always thought the cover art for both were weird.

Yeah I really liked the cover for the Food Album. Unfortunately I took my copy of it to school for video production and my teacher kept it.

Cover art = creepy.

But idea = does indeed make sense. Because he's Al. We can't deny that nearly half his parodies from the 80's (and early 90's) were food-related. It's how everyone knows Al - Eat It, Fat, I Love Rocky Road, etc.

That's what I think.

It took me awhile to get used to the cover art. I s'pose it's just another example of Al's demented sense of humor.

This was undoubtedly one of Al's greatest albums ever.
Hey, Elvis made a topic inspired by one of my posts. I didn't even know he knew I existed.

I liked the TV compilation more as a kid. Played the crap outta both tapes though.

I always felt that this CD got a lot of crap because it was a compilation, but I've always felt the tracklisting was really strong (I love the straight parodies).

I found it interesting that the CD even went Gold in the US!

People who are not die hards always go for the compilations, especially if they are gonna go see a show or something. He could almost make a motion picture compilation with The Saga Begins, Gump, Yoda, even Nature Trail To Hell, UHF, Ode To A Superhero...you get the point, may not be able to find 10 altogether though.
