Welcome to the official page for The World of "Weird Al" Yankovic Awards.

The WOWAY Awards are a group of awards nominated by WOWAY members for other members. They were originally thought of by sarley27, who suggested a panel of members awarded to those who the panel thought should win. Although some awards went ahead, it was an extremely informal matter, and the topic died.

Later, in early February, 2004, mewrio suggested that the awards should be re-presented in an extremely formal matter, and that all members should be able to nominate and vote. The idea got support from many members, including sarley himself. So, ideas were put to work, and a system was invented.

In March that year, mewrio successfully ran the very first ceremony and in early April Dave "Elvis" Rossi, along with some help from iisryan27, held the second event. The following year in March, spacedingo hosted the awards, and Driew_La_27 and iisryan are due to present the awards in October, this year.
